We are committed to accelerating the future of power generation and the decarbonization of our energy mix by increasing renewable energy and achieving greater electrification in energy consumption, while ensuring universal access to affordable electricity. All of this will enable us to reach the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7 – ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all — and to achieve net-zero emissions. Through electrification and decarbonization, customers will also see a significant reduction in their CO2 emissions, helping them to meet stricter limits and improving their sustainability metrics and profiles. We are also committed to increase access to electricity in rural and suburban areas in the nations in which we operate where there are communities without that access, with the goal of reaching 6.9 million beneficiaries by 2030, and we will continue to support the spread of electrical transport as we expect to reach more than 5 million public and private charging points by the end of the decade. The Group promotes the electrification of energy consumption from renewable sources for a sustainable transition, and we are committed to creating value for our customers by developing “beyond-commodity” services, such as enhancing the charging network for electric vehicles, behind-the-meter storage, and electric buses, all in collaboration with our partners.
